专利说明:

[0001] The present invention relates to a concentrated algae extract having a dry matter content of between 6% and 100%, a process for preparing the same and a use thereof on a solo or synthetic basis. associated with another nutritive, biostimulant or phytosanitary technology, in particular to promote the emergence, growth, development, reproduction of plants and to prevent the birds from eating the seeds. The invention also relates to a method for applying the concentrated algae extract of the present invention as well as a seed coated with said extract. Increasing yields is at the heart of farmers' concerns. However, the yield depends greatly on the good development of the plant and therefore its growth, as well as its good health. Plant growth is directly related to absorption and assimilation of mineral elements as well as hormonal fluxes governing the elongation and differentiation of plant tissues. Nutrients and hormones therefore play a vital role in plant growth. Because of their inability to move, the plants have put in place active and activatable mechanisms allowing them to make the best use of the resources present to promote their growth. In order to increase this growth, fertilizers are used. Algae have been used for many years as an organic fertilizer on various types of soils and different vegetable crops and cereals. Algae extracts are used as a biostimulant, most often sprayed on the leaves of plants. Many beneficial effects related to the use of algae extract in agriculture have been observed and include in particular an increase in yield, nutrient supply, frost resistance and stress conditions, better shelf life of fruits and a decrease in attacks by fungi and insects. Algae extracts are also known to allow better seed germination, particularly by promoting the emergence of plants. Indeed, as soon as they emerge, the seedlings are susceptible to a disease called damping-off caused by several species of fungi or by a bacterium, the common rhizoctonia. The attacked young shoots are lying on their side, as if the base of the stem had been pinched. The humidity of the air and the low temperatures favor the appearance of the melting of the seedlings. The present inventors have found that a concentrated algae extract exhibited excellent bio-stimulating activity. Surprisingly, the Applicant has found that, following application in comparable amounts, the concentrated algae extract of the invention is more effective than a diluted extract to stimulate emergence and promote plant growth. In addition, when the concentrated algae extract is used to coat seeds, they are less attacked by birds than uncoated seeds. The present invention relates to a concentrated algae extract having a percentage of dry matter of between 6 and 100%, preferably between 9 and 70%, more preferably between 12 and 50%.
[0002] A second object of the present invention is a process for preparing a concentrated algae extract according to the invention comprising the following steps: - crushing the algae until cell burst; 5 - homogenize the crushed seaweed in aqueous solution; - remove alginate and cellulose by flocculation and filtration; possibly adjust the pH of the filtrate; - Concentrate the filtrate to reach a percentage of dry matter between 6 and 100%, preferably between 9 and 70%, more preferably between 12 and 50%. Another object of the present invention is a method for promoting the emergence, growth, development and / or reproduction of a plant characterized in that the extract according to any one of claims 1 to 3 or prepared according to claim 4 or 5, is applied by infiltration into the soil, sprayed on the leaves of the plant, applied to a seed before sowing or applied to the roots of a seedling, especially by praline, before planting. Yet another object of the present invention is the use of an extract according to the invention or prepared according to the process of the invention, to promote the growth of plants. The present invention also relates to the use of an extract according to the invention or prepared according to the method of the invention, to stimulate the emergence of plants. A sixth object of the present invention is the use of an extract according to the invention or prepared according to the process of the invention, as a bird repellent.
[0003] Finally, the subject of the invention is also a seed coated with an extract according to the invention or prepared according to the process of the invention. The concentrated algae extract of the present invention is in particular an aqueous extract or a dry extract, having a percentage of dry matter of between 6 and 100%, preferably between 9 and 70%, more preferably between 12 and 50%. . The percentage of dry matter, within the meaning of the present invention, is calculated with the following formula: M dry X100 Mhydrate where Mseche is the mass of material remaining after drying; and hydrate is the mass of the algae extract before drying.
[0004] The concentrated algae extract of the present invention may in particular be free of alginate and / or cellulose. In fact, the algae extract according to the invention consists of intracellular liquid of algae obtained after bursting of the cell walls of algae and their elimination by flocculation. The algae from which the concentrated extract of the present invention is obtained can be chosen in particular from Ascophyllum nodosum, Fucus vesiculosus, Laminaria digitata, Laminaria hyperborea, Laminaria saccharina, Eklonia maxima, sargassum spp. and their mixtures. The concentrated algae extract of the present invention may in particular have a pH of between 1.5 and 9, preferably between 2 and 7, more preferably between 2.5 and 3.
[0005] The concentrated algae extract of the present invention comprises intracellular liquid of seaweed. It may include the following compounds: polyphenols, mannitol, growth hormones and mineral salts.
[0006] According to a particular embodiment, the concentrated algae extract of the present invention may be formulated in a composition comprising said extract and at least one compound selected from a gelling agent, a thickener, a phytosanitary product, a second plant extract and / or algae, minerals, surfactant, oil, preservative, and mixtures thereof. The concentrated algae extract of the present invention may in particular be obtained by the method described below. The process for preparing a concentrated algae extract according to the present invention comprises the following steps: - crushing the algae until cell burst; - homogenize the crushed seaweed in aqueous solution; - remove alginate and cellulose by flocculation and filtration; Optionally adjust the pH of the filtrate; - Concentrate the filtrate to reach a percentage of dry matter of between 6 and 100%, preferably between 9 and 70%, more preferably between 12 and 50%.
[0007] The grinding stage notably makes it possible to burst the cell walls of the algae, thus releasing the intracellular liquid of algae. The homogenization step of the crushed algae may in particular be carried out by adding water at a rate of 1 to 2 L of water per kg of ground algae.
[0008] The flocculation and filtration step makes it possible in particular to remove residues from the cell walls of the algae in order to collect the intracellular liquid of seaweed. The residues of the cell walls precipitating by flocculation of the algae can in particular by adding to the crushed algae an acid, in particular hydrochloric acid. According to a particular embodiment of the present invention, the acid is added so as to obtain a pH of between 1.5 and 4, preferably between 2 and 3.5, more preferably between 2.5 and 3. Acidified mixture is then filtered to remove flocs of alginate and cellulose having a size greater than 40 μm. The pH of the filtrate can optionally be adjusted by adding an acid or a base so as to reach a pH of between 1.5 and 9, preferably between 2 and 7, more preferably between 2.5 and 3. Concentration of the filtrate can be carried out in various ways, such as reverse osmosis, water evaporation, seaweed enrichment or centrifugation. Reverse osmosis is a membrane separation technique based on a diffusion selectivity process. Two algae extracts of different concentrations are placed on either side of a permeable membrane. When pressure is applied to the most concentrated algae extract, some of the water in the most concentrated extract migrates to the least concentrated extract. The evaporation of water can in particular be carried out by heating the algae extract at reduced pressure, for example with a rotary evaporator. The heating may be carried out at 40 to 90 ° C, preferably at 60 to 80 ° C. The enrichment of algae may in particular be carried out by replacing, in the homogenization step of the crushed alga 5 of the process according to the invention, the water with a suspension of algae obtained by the process according to the invention. Centrifugation can in particular be carried out by subjecting the algae extract to centrifugal force in a machine rotating at high speed.
[0009] Preferably, the concentration step of the filtrate is carried out by evaporation of water. The concentrated algae extract according to the present invention is advantageously used in agriculture where it finds numerous applications depending on the type of plant on which it is applied and the period of the cycle of the plant where it is used. The concentrated algae extract of the present invention may in particular be used alone or in combination with a nutritional, biostimulant or phytosanitary composition.
[0010] The plants on which the concentrated algae extract of the present invention can be used are agronomically useful plants, for example vegetable, fruit and cereal crops, and ornamental plants. Agronomically useful plants are angiosperms selected from the group consisting of Apiaceae, Asteraceae, Brassicaceae, Chenopodiaceae, Convolvulaceae, Cucurbitaceae, Fabaceae, Liliaceae, Polygonaceae, Rosaceae, Solanaceae, Poaceae, Vitaceae. According to a particular embodiment, the concentrated algae extract of the present invention is used on tomato, rice, soybean, fruit trees, grapevine, wheat or maize. Thus, when the concentrated algae extract of the present invention is used to promote plant growth, said extract may be applied by foliar spraying or by application to the soil or root infiltration. Applications can be made throughout the growth of the plant, one or more times a week. Very interesting results have been demonstrated on tomato plants and corn plants. When the concentrated algae extract of the present invention is used to stimulate the emergence of plants and / or to provide a bird repellent effect, said extract can be applied to the seeds, for example, before they are planted or young seedlings just after emergence. The seeds may in particular be coated with the concentrated algae extract of the present invention. The coating may, for example, be made by wetting the seeds with said extract and allowing them to dry, preferably at room temperature. The application can be carried out at a level of from 10 to 120 g, preferably from 20 to 110 g, more preferably from 30 to 105 g of concentrated algae extract per 100 kg of seeds. Quite interesting results have been demonstrated on corn seeds. The coated seed which is the subject of the present invention can in particular be prepared as described in the preceding paragraph. Coating the seed with the concentrated algae extract of the present invention allows the faster plant to emerge and make it more resistant to damping-off compared to uncoated seeds. In addition, the coated seeds according to the present invention are much less attacked by birds, such as in particular crows, pigeons, larks, partridges and pheasants compared to uncoated seeds. The invention will be described in more detail below with the aid of the following examples which are given by way of illustration only. FIGURES FIG. 1 is a schematic representation of the number of maize plants obtained 3 weeks after sowing uncoated corn seeds, coated with an algae extract of the present invention or coated with a conventional fungicide as described in FIG. Example 4. Figure 2 is a schematic representation of the number of maize plants obtained 3 weeks after sowing uncoated corn seeds, coated with an algae extract of the present invention or coated with a conventional fungicide such as EXAMPLES Example 1 Preparation of a Concentrated Algae Extract An extract of the Ascophyllum nodosum alga having a percentage of dry matter of 5.1%, called GOACTIV by the Applicant Company, is concentrated by evaporation of water by heating the extract to 50 ° C in a rotary evaporator under vacuum (water pump) until the percentage of dry matter reaches 13%. EXAMPLE 2 Application of Concentrated Seaweed Extract to Tomato Plants On tomato plants, at the 3-leaf stage (3 weeks), one leaf per week is sprayed on the leaves one extract per plant. as indicated in the following table: Comparative seaweed extract According to the invention GOACTIV (Example 1)% of solids 5.1% 13% Amount of extract 0.03 mg 0.01 mg sprayed per plant Tomato plants are therefore treated with comparable amounts of each extract.
[0011] After 5 weeks of treatment, the tomato plants treated with the concentrated algae extract of the present invention (Example 1) were higher and bushier than the plants treated with the non-concentrated algae extract (GOACTIV). ). For comparable applied extract amounts, the concentrated algae extract of the present invention is therefore more effective in promoting the growth of tomato plants than a more diluted extract. Example 3: Coating Corn Seeds With Concentrated Seaweed Extract 100 kg of corn seeds are wetted with 100 g of concentrated algae extract prepared in Example 1 in a rotary mixer. The seeds are then allowed to dry at 20-25 ° C for 24 hours. Example 4 Effect of seed coating on the emergence of corn plants The coated corn seeds prepared in Example 3 were sown on 20 m2 plots. A check is made with untreated corn seeds. A comparative test is carried out with corn seeds coated with a conventional fungicide comprising 25 g / l fludioxonil and 9.7 g / l metalaxyl-M. 3 weeks after sowing, the number of maize plants is counted. The results are shown in Figure 1. It is noted that the emergence of maize plants is favored when the seeds are coated with the concentrated algae extract prepared according to Example 1 in relation to uncoated seeds or seeds. coated with the fungicide. Example 4 was reproduced and gave similar results. Example 5: Repellent effect of seed coating birds During one of the experiments according to Example 4, the field underwent a particularly aggressive attack of crows. The birds attack the seeds buried in the soil which results in a decrease in the number of healthy corn plants in relation to the number of seeds planted. The results are shown in Figure 2, the values on the y-axis being expressed as a percentage of healthy corn plants relative to the number of theoretical plants.
[0012] A clear difference in the level of attack between the control plots or those treated with the fungicide and the plots whose seeds were coated with the concentrated algal extract of Example 1 was observed. Thus, plots seeded with seeds treated with the concentrated algae extract of Example 1 were relatively spared by the birds. The concentrated algae extract of the present invention therefore has a bird repellent effect. Example 5 was reproduced and gave similar results.
